Myself:

I am 45 years of age and have spent the past 35 years of my life involved in child care, raising my own children, and working with children of various ages.  Beginning in 1981, I worked as a day care provider in my home.  I have directed Vacation Bible Schools for 5 years in Plainview at College Heights Baptist Church, where I am a member.  In addition to VBS Director, I held positions as department director in VBS for over 20 years.  I taught girls in the Junior High department for 5 years prior to returning to college to obtain my certification in teaching.  My children are grown, and now I desire to dedicate myself (time, motivation, and abilities) to teaching and nurturing children in the public school system.

I desire to use instruction which motivates, is authentic, and brings all students into active learning.   I will strive to use strategies and instruction which encourage success in all students, and develop positive relationships with each student.  With my children being older, I believe I can invest my time, heart, and soul into the students and the classroom.

All students are valuable and can be motivated by enthusiastic teaching, intentional organized preparation, forming caring relationships, various instruction and strategies, and holding high expectations for each student in the learning process.
